This function converts a XML attribute to character.

.attributeToString(attributes, attributeName, required = FALSE)

`attributes`	`character`, XML attributes
`attributeName`	`character`, name XML attributes of attribute to convert
`required`	`logical`, throw an error if an required attribute is missing.
